Industrial valve actuator support bracket
EGH602H POM with 30% glass fiber, revised radii and rib alignment helped limit bracket deformation and maintain drive alignment under sustained load.
Project status: Long-term life validation
Customer and component
The customer manufactures industrial electric valve actuators. A POM bracket holds the small motor, reduction mechanism and limit switches, maintaining the relative positions of several mounting points under long-term static load.
The challenge
The original material met initial assembly requirements, but slight creep appeared after several weeks of continuous loading. This shifted the motor shaft relative to the reduction gears. The customer wanted to retain POM rather than adopt a metal bracket.
Material choice and molding trials
Taiyi Polymer recommended EGH602H POM with 30% glass fiber, focusing on sustained structural stiffness as the main requirement.
The team also suggested larger local radii and revised rib directions to better align the main fiber orientation with the bracket's principal load direction.
Customer feedback and project status
The customer reported better shape retention than the original design in sustained-load tests. Gear mesh positions remained stable after actuator assembly, and the project entered long-term life validation.
